LPPI Laboratory
Located on the Neuville-sur-Oise site, the Laboratoire de Physicochimie des Polymères et des Interfaces (LPPI) brings together around twenty teacher-researchers from various scientific specialities (polymerists, electrochemists, inorganic chemists, surface and interface physicists, etc.), 5 permanent administrative and technical members and around thirty non-permanent members (post-docs, PhD students, etc.).
Thanks to this multidisciplinary approach, the LPPI is developing research themes relating to polymer materials with controlled architecture, ion-conducting polymer materials and (macro)molecular semiconductor and electronic conductor materials and their modelling.
These skills enable it to propose innovative solutions, even technological breakthroughs, for cross-disciplinary and unifying issues requiring structural, functional or stimulable materials. Today, this approach is mainly applied to the problems of energy storage and conversion, the preservation and restoration of material heritage and, more recently, materials for health.
At the same time, the LPPI is one of the founding members of the “Institut des Matériaux” (I-Mat) federative structure, along with three other university laboratories (ERRMECe - Biology, L2MGC - Civil Engineering and GEC - Geoscience).
For the past ten years, the LPPI (CY Cergy Paris Université) and the SensorLab (University of the Western Cape/UWC, South Africa) have been developing joint research projects in the field of polymer materials and electrochemistry. On the strength of this privileged collaboration and in line with the respective strategies of the two laboratories, the two universities have decided to strengthen this scientific partnership by creating an International Associated Laboratory (LIA) called SENERGYLAB (Sensors and Energy International Laboratory).
